The Old Flower Patch grows a variety of heirloom cut flowers and wildflowers on a quarter acre at McKinley Family Farm in Turlock, California. All of the flowers are open pollinated
and sustainably grown from seed - all by hand - without the use of synthetic chemical
pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. My flowers are field-grown, resulting in charming and casual
country bouquets.
At The Old Flower Patch, flowers are produced with the
greater farm ecosystem in mind, through the use of sustainable farming
practices such as companion planting, cover cropping, and planting insectory
plants as habitat for beneficial insects, because I believe in farming with
nature rather than fighting against it.
The goal of The Old Flower Patch is to provide unique
bouquets to those who appreciate the free-form beauty and old-fashioned charm
of heirloom flowers and wildflowers, and who value preserving our resources
through sustainable farming.
My flowers are sold through the local Turlock farmers’
market, as well as McKinley Family Farm’s CSA program.
